Neuer Google-Service: Google Pack

GoogleWatch hatte es schon angekündigt:

Das Pack soll die verschiedensten Anwendungen für jeden Bereich mit nur einem Installationsvorgang auf die Platte bringen.
Mit dabei sollen sein:

Jetzt ist es offiziell: Google hat einen neuen Service gelauncht: Google Pack:

What is the Google Pack?
Google Pack is a free collection of essential software from Google and other companies. The software in the Google Pack helps you browse the web faster, remove spyware and viruses, organize your photos, and more. Learn more about each of the programs in the Google Pack.

Google Pack also takes the hassle out of downloading, installing, and updating software. You can download and install the entire Google Pack in just a few clicks. And the included Google Updater helps you discover new programs and keep your current software up to date.

Während ich diesen Post verfasse, ändert sich die Seite noch: es kommen teilweise andere Programme hinzu, sodass die oebn genannte Liste bald komplett sein dürfte. Hier ein Screenshot vom “Updater”:

Tja, ich werde das ganze mal testen. Aber einen Eindruck sollte sich jeder selbst machen. Ob man den “Pack” braucht? Sicher nicht notwendiger Weise. Aber er er dürfte gerade unerfahrenen Anwendern einiges an Aufwand ersparen.
Und was Google damit bezwecken will? Ich nehme an, dass damit die eigenen Produkte noch besser propagiert werden sollen. Anzunehmen ist auch, dass man über den Updater immer mit Infos über neue Produkte von Google versorgt wird.
