It’s true: The Zune is incompatible with Vista

But on November 14, Microsoft rolled out the Zune player, which doesn’t work with Vista. And so far, the Softies haven’t provided any public info (that I’ve heard/seen) about when the company will introduce a patch or update enabling the Zune to work with Vista.
Wie ging der Spruch nochmal: Da weiß eine Hand nicht, was die andere tut. Das ist natürlich schon etwas peinlich. Auch Mr. Techcrunch hat darüber berichtet:
Maybe my “Microsoft’s Entertainment Domination” theory was a bit premature. Apparently, the Zune MP3 player isn’t flying off shelves and now it turns out that the Zune is incompatible with Microsoft’s latest Windows Vista operating system. Amazing how a disconnect like this can occur within an organization.
Peinlich auch, dass dem Global Player Microsoft jetzt auch noch neue Vertragsstrafen drohen:
Der Europäischen Kommission liegt bis heute keine vollständige technische Dokumentation von Microsofts Kommunikations-Protokollen vor, wie sie die Kommission im Zuge ihres Kartellverfahrens gegen Microsoft fordert. Ein letzte Frist läuft am 23. November 2006 ab und die Kommission weist deutlich darauf hin, dass die verhängte Strafe von 2 Millionen Euro pro Tag durchaus auf drei Millionen Euro erhöht werden kann.
